Huron Booster Club Achievement Awards 2005 Awardees

Congratulations to James Wolford, a freshman wrestler and Sarah Grider, a sophomore softball player for being the recipients of the Huron Booster Club Achievement Awards!

Awards were presented by Huron Principal Dr. Williams and Toni Ausum Fear, Booster Club Vice President.

For the first time this year, the Huron Booster Club awarded two (2) $1000 Achievement Awards as part of its Scholar-Athlete Program which was held on the evening of March 9, 2005. The Booster Club’s Scholar-Athlete Program honors students who maintain a 3.2 or better grade point average during the semester in which they are a member of a sports team.

One of the Booster Club’s Achievement Awards is designated for a female student, and one Achievement Award is designated for a male student. Random selections were drawn from the male and female students who attended the program. The $1000 Achievement Awards will become available to students after their graduation from Huron High School, and can be used for expenses related to enrollment in universities, colleges, community colleges, trade and technical institutes.

Congratulations to both James and Sarah for their success in the classroom as well as on the playing field!
