SAT  - Scholastic Achievement Test is used by colleges and universities nationwide to assess an applicant’s aptitude for college-level work. Selective colleges will use these test results as one of their tools for determining admission.

SAT
is designed to help measure a student’s ability to handle college-level work. The seven sections that currently make up the exam are comprised of a variety of verbal and math questions, designed to gauge a student’s critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

It’s typically taken in the junior or senior year, but many students take the SAT more than once since most colleges consider only the highest scores. Duration: about 3 hours. Fee: $29.50.
